Tourism Sector Contribution to State's Economy

As up to September 2011 the tourism sector  has so far contributed RM 3.662 billion to the state's economy. A total 2,096,202 tourists (617,260 Foreign tourist and 1,478,942 local tourist) arrived since January this year. According to our Tourism, Culture and Environment minister Datuk Masidi Manjun, about 24,393 tourist has been staying in Mabul island, and Kapalai for scuba diving and snorkeling in Sipadan. These info was reported by Datuk Masidi at the State Legislative Assembly (Chaired by CM Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman) on last monday 21st November 2011.

The Mayor ,Datuk abidin Madingkir has urged the Eatery operators to keep the place clean always to attract the tourist to the state.

Tourism is an important source of revenue for the state of Sabah

nampaknya Sabah sudah menjadi satu destinasi pilihan para pelancong di dalam mahupun luar negara. semoga industri pelancongan Sabah akan terus berkembang dari masa ke semasa.

Oleh itu kerajaan kena pastikan kemudahan asas disediakan dan berfungsi dengan baik di semua tempat2 tarikan pelancong. Tidak lupa juga untuk memastikan kebersihan tempat2 berada di tahap yang terbaik!

Sektor pelancongan jika diusahakan dengan baik, pasti menarik lebih banyak pelancong dan berupayaan membawa pendapatan yang lumayan kepada negeri dan rakyat.

Usaha masih diperlukan agar alam semulajadi di Sabah dikenali semua golongan. Pulau, hutan, gunung semua menjadi tarikan orang ramai.
